Cookie policy
This page describes everything the site keeps in your browser: what exactly, why, for how long and how to change it. Personal data from the enquiry form is a separate matter and is covered by the privacy policy.
What these are
A cookie is a short note a site leaves in the browser so that it recognises the browser next time. Other browser storage works in much the same way; below we call all of it cookies, because the difference is technical and the meaning is the same.
Some of these notes are what make the site work at all. The rest are not, and we do not set them without your consent.
What we keep and why
The necessary entries hold your answer to these settings and let the form be sent. The site does not work without them, and they need no consent: the law allows cookies of this kind without asking.
Visitor statistics are collected through Google Analytics. The counter script loads straight away, but until you agree it runs in a mode where it sets no cookies and does not tie visits together: what reaches Google is an anonymous signal that a page was viewed. Agreeing switches the cookies on, and then we can see how many people came and where from.
We also run a visit counter of our own, and it is deliberately absent from the list below: it sets no cookies and stores nothing in the browser at all, so there is nothing to allow. What it records on our own server is described in the privacy policy.
The language you choose is not stored. It is in the address of the page and nowhere else. WordPress sets working cookies only for people who log in to the admin.
Everything that may end up in your browser is listed below. The list is assembled from the code of the site rather than written by hand, so it cannot drift away from what actually happens.
Necessary
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Personal data |
|---|---|---|---|
wasp_consent | Holds your answer about cookies so that you are not asked on every visit. | 12 mo. | no |
wp_consent_* | The same answer in the form WordPress standardises, so other extensions of the site can read it. | 12 mo. | no |
Statistics
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Personal data |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics: tells visitors apart so that the number of people who came can be counted. | 13 mo. | yes |
_ga_9EC5VT0QDP | Google Analytics: keeps the state of the session for this site. | 13 mo. | yes |
How to change your mind
There is a round button with a biscuit on it in the bottom left corner of every page. It opens the same settings you saw on your first visit, and it works both ways: allow what you declined, and withdraw what you allowed.
Withdrawal is not a formality. Entries that rested on the consent you withdrew are removed from the browser at once, not on your next visit.
You can also clear cookies from the browser itself, and then we will ask again next time.
Who else receives this
The statistics are processed by Google Ireland Limited as our processor under article 28 GDPR. The full list of everyone with access to the data of this site, and the grounds for processing, are in the privacy policy.
We do not sell data and we do not hand it to third parties for purposes of their own.
Changes
If what we keep changes, this list changes with it: it is assembled from the code. When a new purpose appears, consent is asked for again, because the consent you gave did not cover it.
